Suri Sensation – Hand Dyed Suri Alpaca Yarn

Suri Sensation is a premium quality lace weight yarn – combining luxurious, fluffy softness and exciting hand dyed colors. It is made from the rare breed of much sought-after Suri Alpaca.

Suri Sensation lace yarn features high luster and a brushed halo which gives it a fuzzy texture. It is so warm and lightweight your completed project will come out with a hazy, soft hand and a fine finish.

We are delighted to offer Suri Sensation as an alternative to Mohair which, sadly, a lot of people find too itchy. If you admire the many lovely mohair yarns but are too sensitive to wear them – this is your happy find: Suri Sensation is exceptionally soft and meant to be worn on bare skin!

Even if lace knitting is not your thing, you can simply pair Suri Sensation with any base yarn of your choice and add fabulous softness, fluffiness and exciting colors to your project.

Living Dreams is a family-run yarn and fiber producer located in the Pacific Northwest, USA. As a cottage industry, we are decidedly more “cottage” than “industry”—each of our products is packaged with care and love at our log cabin in the foothills of Mt. Rainier.

We are proud to offer the highest standard of plant and animal fibers handmade in small batches. Our network of makers includes local family farms, independent artisans, and fiber mills, all working together to revive and preserve the ancient fiber arts.

SUPERIOR SURI SOFTNESS: While this yarn may look like Mohair, it has none of the itchiness. Suri Sensation is a soft, lustrous brushed lace yarn made from the rare breed of Suri Alpacas and is meant to be worn on bare skin.
PAINT WITH YARN: Use Suri Sensation by itself to create lightweight, gauzy lace projects with subtle aquarelle coloring – or – pair it with any other base yarn for a more substantial knit. Holding Suri Sensation with another yarn will take your project to the next needle size and at the same time add brushed texture and exciting coloring… making it your very own unique creation.
USA HAND DYED: Each skein is individually kettle dyed and hand painted for those complex, saturated, subtle tones that can only be achieved through careful hand dyeing.
CRUELTY FREE: We only use responsibly sourced fiber. Our yarns are colorfast and are created using the safest dyes available.
1 SKEIN – SMALL BUT MIGHTY: Each skein weighs only 25 gram but has an amazing 255 yards (235m). Lace Weight 78% Brushed Suri / 22% Nylon. Depending on your project this yarn is suitable for a wide range of needles US #4-8 and beyond.
