The Janome 5300QDC was super easy to setup right out the package for me but I think it might be due to the fact that my previous machine was also made by Janome. I absolutely adore this machine! My favorite features are auto-needle down, automatic thread cutter, the knee lifter and magnifying glasses. The only thing that I’m not a fan of is the automatic needle threader as it is way more difficult to use than the one on my previous Janome which cost much less. The machine is easy to use, and runs smoothly. I can tell that I'm going to get a lot of years of use out of it.

    Love my Janome this is my third Janome. Each time I have upgraded. I have been sewing and quilting for 50 years and this machine is awesome. I taught school and taught 5th graders how to sew during lunch hour they would have loved this machine.

    I did tons and I mean tons of research, pushed my budget to the limit and then some. But I really thought this would be the perfect machine for my daughter to keep for a long time and also not outgrow the features it offered…all while staying somewhat to budget of course lol. I spoke to family friends that are heavily involved in all different kinds of sewing and everyone placed this janome in their top 2 picks even against singer, JUKI and a bernina…the bonus features and reputation as well as the many features won out. I saw several reviews here stating random upgrades to the 5300QDC which was completely out of my price range at around double the price of the 4300. Much to my surprise we got a random upgrade and my daughter is beyond thrilled with her new machine and can not wait to put it to good use!! Seller was amazing to communicate with and in a timely manner too! I’d give it 10stars if I could 🙂

    I ordered the janome 4300 qdc and they upgraded me for free to the 5300 qdc. The only thing I can say is that this machine is awesome. It's like having a beat up old clunker car your whole life and suddenly you have a brand spanking new luxury car. I should have done this many years ago but I absolutely love this machine it is so quiet and so easy to use. I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a good machine that will probably last them a lifetime. I know the 5300 qdc is been discontinued but the next model is already out and it would be well worth the money. If you bought one of these machines you would fall in love with it and never want anything else again.

    AMAZING machine but the high pitched noice has got to go!

    I was upgraded to the 5300qdc and I LOVE IT. The machine puts out a high pitched noise. Kinda like a dog whistle. I don’t know if this is normal but man it is annoying! I have teached out to ishop and hopefully will be resolved. If I turn my music up I can drown it out. Other than that the machine is AMAZING. I will update when I hear back from ishop.

    Update. Ishop is amazing to work with. They replaced the machine for me. I absolutely love this machine. It still has a high pitched sound but not as bad. I think it’s just how it is. It does seem to go away after it is on for a while. If I ever buy another quilting machine I will go in person to make sure there is NO noise.

    I love this sewing machine. I ordered the 4300 and was upgraded to the newer 5300 at no additional cost by my seller (how lucky and fantastic was that!).I was using a $200 Brother machine before making the decision to upgrade to this one. I can’t get over the difference of how this machine handles. Many of the features are the same or similar to my Brother machine, but oh so much better. This machine is more powerful. The instruction manual provides more detail than the Brother did as well so I know and understand the capabilities better. Favorite new features: thread cutter, twin needle button and magnifier for seeing those stitches that match the fabric so closely. The alignment plate is so much nicer, so easy to see exactly where my seam lines are. The LED light is much brighter as well. There are 300 programmed stitches, I’ve used about 20 of them so far mainly because the manual explained them so much better. I’m having so much fun learning and using this machine. I am very happy with it and so glad I upgraded. Can’t say enough about the seller for upgrading me at no additional cost. My machine also arrived a day earlier then promised.

    So I read & re read about which machine to buy when spending so much money. I’m new to quilting & didn’t want to regret my decision. Going to a store to get advice wasn’t an option during this pandemic So after many days & much deliberation I decided on this one. Although new to quilting I am not new to sewing so I know my way around a machine & had a wish list for my new one, that being said it did not tick every box for me but without spending a couple of thousand to tick all the boxes this one does so much & more. For the price you get the all the quilting feet included which can soon add up if you buy them separately. Unfortunately in my box the 1/4 seam foot was the wrong one for the machine so I ordered it separately from amazon. This machine is very easy to use I love the extended work space & extra room at the throat, I have even tried free motion quilting with success. This machine has a lot to offer in the mid price range. Go ahead you won’t be disappointed.
